Project 1: QTVR -- Starting Research of Panoramic Photographers

Panoguide
Panoguide provides a google map based gallery where on the map there are icons, each corresponds to a different location around the world. In total there are 1117 panoramic photos, including 188 in the U.S.A and 139 in the U.K.

Brad Templeton

Brad Templeton shows a sepection of Panoramic Photography that he has taken. He founded and ran ClariNet Communications Corp, the first internet-based content company. His Panoramas are mainly iconic landscapes with breath taking scenery. A few of his Panoramas are city scapes, the ones that are taken at night are beautiful. In these two:

(sydharbeve22.jpg) Sydney Harbour at Night
Youn can see the sky changing from light to dark. I think this looks effective and would love to do this but it is not very practical as you'd have to get the exposure perfect and the same for every picture you take. Also when joining the ends they need to be the same lightness and that is more then likely not going to happen.

Panoramic Photography Tips
Is a helpful site that explains everythingfrom equipment needed to the final presentation of the final piece. I found it useful in explaining what worked well and placing of the camera. Although it does tell you to use an automated stiching program that does everything for you. There is a folder of 955 panoramic images in the gallery, 404 of those taken in London like this one:
(2rows-central.jpg) London Docklands
And another 88 from around the U.K including these 3 of Brighton Pier and Beach:
(brighton-beach-pier2.jpg) This is the complete pier at Brighton taken from the beach to the west.
(brighton-pier-sussex3.jpg) Is also a complete view of the pier but taken from the beach to the east and a closer view.
(brighton-beach-again.jpg) Is a view of Brighton seafront from the pier.
Eye Revolution
Is a professional photographer group which provides virtual tours. They give a service to businesses of a photographers eye for detail and quality to excite and intrigue people on there websites. In the portfolio you can see atleast 90 different locations and tours including some beautiful breath taking buildings and scenes. Some recognizable to me personally like the Excel building in London and others that make you want to visit them more like these (Listed and catorgrized like the website):
