1924 - Anatomy lessons with George Bridgeman - The first state execution using gas
1925 - Studies painting with Mark Webber - Nellie Taylor Ross becomes the first female governer in the U.S
1929 - Starts teaching - Wall Street Crash
1932 - Meets Milton Avery and Adolph Gottlieb + Marries Edith Sacher - Iraq gains independance from Britain
1933 - First one-man show - Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected
1935 - Co-founder of 'The Ten' - Persia becomes Iran
1936 - Starts work in the painting department of the WPA -Hover Dam completed
1938 - Becomes a citizen of the U.S - Invention of the ballpoint pen
1940 - Changes name to Mark Rothko - Churchill became Prime Minister
1944 - Devorces Edith Sacher - D-Day
1945 - Marries Mary Alice (Mell) Beistle - WWII ended
1948 - Exhibition - Polarized film, Scrabble, Velcro and Cable TV invented
1949 - Teaches painting + starts titling his work with only numbers - Germany splits into East and West
1950 - Visits Europe + Daughter born - North Korea invades South Korea
1951 - Becomes professor - 22nd Amendment was added to the American Constitution meaning that Prime Ministers can't serve more then two terms
1952 - '15 Americans' show - Polio vacine developed
1954 - Exhibits at Chicago + Contract with Sidney Janis Gallery - Korean was endend
1955 - One-man show at Sidney Janis Gallery - Albert Einstein passed away
1957 - Becomes artist in residence - Sputnik is launched
1958 - Contract for murals - Sputnik falls to Earth and burns up
1959 - Visits Europe + Pulls out of mural contract - Cyprus becomes independant from Britain
1961 - Hired by Harvard - Ham the chimp travels to space
1963 - Completes Harvard contract - John F Kennedy assasinated
1964 - Hired by John and Dominique de Menil - The first pirate radio station - Radio Caroline
1965 - Talks with director of Tate - U.S joins the vietnam war
1967 - Teaches - BBC Radio 1 is launched
1968 - Suffers aortal aneurysum + starts cataloging work - Apollo 8 is the 1st manned space craft to orbit the moon
1969 - Separates from Mell + Moves out + Recieves honers from Yale + Begins his 'Dark Paintings - Apollo 9 returns to Earth
