I've choosen to do 4 postcards based on Mark Rothko's work, 2 are from his early figurative work and 2 are from his later colour work.
For these i have decided to do it basically the same way as my poster, but this time i am doing a straight copy of the original work, this is instead of just using his work as the postcard. I am puting my twist onto his work.

The original file was tiny, but it is the only version of this particular image that i could find. Next to it is my final image, this is the only one were i have tried to create a slight painted affect as i thought it would suit the subject well.

This is my favourite out of my 4 postcards, i love the complexcity of the image but using the basic colours and shapes some how adds a simplicity to it aswell.
This and the next were both simple images to recreate. I like how one is warm hues(above) and the other is cold hues(below) thats why im using them both as i think they provide contrast to one another.
