Project 1: 3 Easy Pieces -- Animation Development

Animation: Game Loop

I started with a plain black backgound and a blue rectangle which will be my starting point animating from off the left side of screen to the centre.
The blue rectangle fires a yellow block. Originally i had a yellow rectangle firing out when the blue rectangle stopped but i decided to over lap the action and transform it to a more bullet shape. Though after being fired it does transform into my original rectangle.
After transforming the yellow rectangle i built a colourful wall to break through. Which moves down and the yellow rectangle moves up.
I tryed to create the block shattering by animating the mask but there where to mant points and it was to jumpy so instead i created 4 seperate solids and animated them seperately.
The shattering is quick and sharp animation as when i originally animated it, it was to fluid and slow.
I animated the indervidual pieces to move quickly of screen and spin quickly aswell.
Next the rectangle transforms into an arrow. I originally did each step as a different solid but it was to clungy and quick transformations, it did not folw. Then i decided to start again and animate the mask of the original shape and it became more fluid and slow.




Next is the tetris pieces.
The tetris pieces only animate simply, just droping from the top and the arrow avoids them. I parented the tetris pieces together so they would all fall evenly and together.
Next i created my space invader, i created the main red area with a mask and then added the windows as separate solids using the space invader as a parent so i only had to aniamte the space invader and not everything individually.
Next i put in the bullets in, i created three together animatedand parented them then dublicated them. Moveing them to the right points.
I animated the arrow dodging the bullets in a figure of 8 pattern.
And the space invader passes 2 times before hitting the arrow.
As the arrow moves close and gets hits the bullets disapper and the arrow cracks. The cracks were created by animating the mask.
It breaks to three pieces and the quickly go off the edge of the screen. The blue ball bounces twice and changes colour when it bounces. Starting off blue.
And moving to green. The white circles move up from the bottom and i timed them to start moving when the ball hit to make in look like to was the impact of the ball that made them move.
After green the ball turns yellow. I planned on having yellow pacman at the end but i didnt want a yellow ball to come out of the yellow arrow so i put a blue ball in. Then i decided to put a green stage in the middle to make the transition more fluid. Then pacman eats the white circles off the screen.
